We are very proud to announce that the amazing Nicki Franklin of The Stitchery will be joining us at Layfamilyyarn HQ to teach a workshop.
Nicki has designed a new embroidery kit that will be launching this summer and it fits perfectly with Layfamilyyarn HQ.
The design itself is under wraps for now ( you are going to love it, if like me you love all things yarn!) but if you are a fan of Nicki’s work you already know how phenomenal her designs are.
In the workshop we will learn the embroidery stitches involved to create a beautiful dice of stitching. The newly designed kit will include all the materials and threads you will need.
Due to the slow nature of hand stitching, the project may need to be completed at home but the kit provided on the day will include all material a full instruction booklet.
Feel free to bring your own embroidery kit with you; embroidery hoop, needles, scissors etc but don’t worry if you are a just starting your stitching journey Nicki will have supplies available for you to borrow.
A day to remember
This will be a full day workshop and at Layfamilyyarn HQ we need very little excuse to bring out the vintage china and serve afternoon tea.
The ticket will include all the tea/coffee/ soft drinks you can manage and freshly baked shortbread on arrival. Afternoon tea will be served at lunchtime, followed by homemade cake in the afternoon. We know that regular refuelling is important for to inspire creativity!
At the end of the workshop Nicki will be running a pop up shop where she will be selling some of amazing embroidery kits as well as other goodies.
There will also be an opportunity to peruse the launch of the new embroidery silks hand dyed by Layfamilyyarn.
