Firstly a huge heartfelt thank you for considering spending time with us - Nick, Kelly and Megan at the WoolLay retreat; we are so excited to share this experience with you.
Our aim is to facilitate a relaxed weekend filled with chatter and laughter over our shared love of the fibre arts. Nestled in the Shropshire countryside, on the banks of the River Severn the Maws Craft Centre will be the base for the weekend.
The highlight of the weekend will be a yarn dyeing workshop at Layfamilyyarn HQ here you will dye two skeins of yarn using different techniques for each skein. Your creations will be presented to you on Sunday all dried and labelled as part of your goody bag where you will also receive a WoolLay retreat exclusive pattern to showcase your beautiful yarn.
As crafters and makers we all know that creativity can not be achieved on an empty stomach! After a morning dyeing yarn you will be served afternoon tea by The Tile Press Cafe. A short stroll by the riverside on Saturday evening will lead you to The Half Moon Inn where you will enjoy an evening meal and even more chatting and crafting!
Sunday's should always be a time to relax and unwind, Sunday will provide plenty of down time to sit and craft or explore the craft centre and the many independent crafts people and workshops which are open to the public before being served a light lunch at The Tile Press Cafe.
Chatting to friends new and old is without question thirsty work; tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available throughout the weekend.
There will be an informal gathering around the pub fire for those who wish to travel early on the Friday evening, please let us know ahead of time.
The cost of the retreat is 250.00 GBP excluding accommodation which is to be arranged by each individuals; we will provide a list of local accommodation in the welcome newsletter upon booking.
The final balance 175:00 GBP is to be paid in full on or before 17:00 BST 27th September 2019 which is 6 weeks before arrival. Failure to pay in full by this date will result in your booking fee being withheld and the place being offered to the person at the top of the waiting list.
Any cancelations prior to the 27th September 2019 will have the booking fee returned if and only if the place is filled by someone on the waiting list. If the place is left unattended then the booking fee will be withheld.
